Countdown Week is on in Whistler BC
The excitement grows and there are many events taking place this week in Whistler. There will be a one year countdown celebration starting at 5:40pm in Whistler Village Square on February 12th, 2009. Features include fireworks, live music and top ski and snowboard athletes will jump through the infamous Whistler "ring of fire".
Earlier that day, the Olympic torch relay
announcement will take place in Whistler Village Square. This event
starts at 8am on February 12th, 2009.
Live music is scheduled all week long and will feature performances by The Paperboys, Wil, Grand Analog, Buck 65, Joel Plaskett, DJ Dakota, Wide Mouth Mason, Bitterly Divine, and George Leach. The live music events will start at 4:40 pm on February 12th and continue every evening at the same time until Sunday, February 15th, 2009.
