World Cup Downhill Victory For Canadian Skier
Canadian World Cup downhill skier Manuel Osbourne-Paradis finished first place in the World Cup Downhill Ski Race.
This is the first downhill ski victory for the 25
year old from Invermere, British Columbia, Canada.
It was not the Canadian team's first time on the slopes of Olympiabakken piste, but they did very well and came through to win a first for the Canadian downhill ski team in Kvitfjell, Norway.
Other Canadian skiers that have come close in the past were Erik Guay in 2007 and Edi Povinsky in 1997.
The victory is welcomed by Canadian athletes as a lead in to the upcoming 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in British Columbia.
