Mont Tremblant Ski Resort - A Canadian Gem

Meaning "trembling mountain" in French, Mont-Tremblant is a village in the Laurentian mountains of Quebec, Canada, around 130km north-west of Montreal.

The ski resort is 13 kilometres from the village and right at the foot of the 875m high Mont Tremblant Mountain. The surrounding area is also blessed with excellent hiking, cycling, canoeing, golfing, and other outdoor activities.

 

Mont TremblantWith 94 runs serviced by 13 state-of-the-art lifts, designed to handle 27,230 skiers per hour, the mountain is perched perfectly above stunning countryside landscape.

There are 17 novice runs, 31 intermediate runs, miles of expert terrain, 18 acres of ramps, rails and jumps and an Olympic calibre superpipe. All together, there are 620 acres of skiable terrain and skiing and boarding on four faces.

Natural snow generally falls from November to April and the mountain is well-kitted out with 1037 snow guns in case of poor snow fall. The easy slopes are generally not crowded and as you go up the difficulty scale there are fewer skiers and riders.

You'll have the 'double black diamond' areas mostly to yourself. The trails are long, varied and interesting. The lifts are quite fast and on the busiest days you could expect to wait around five minutes.

All in all, Mont Tremblant is a hidden gem of a skiing destination.

The village has a lively après scene and is well serviced by good quality restaurants and shopping. Moderately challenging runs, solid accommodations, great food, good shopping and many varied other activities make it an excellent choice for a family skiing holiday.
